Dr. Sevag A. Bastian is a Board-Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon who is practicing general orthopaedics at Orthopaedic Surgery Specialists. Anchored at the new Glendale office (on the Glendale Adventist campus), Dr. Bastian is committed to helping patients of all ages, and speaks fluent Spanish and Armenian.

Fellowship-trained in Shoulder and Elbow Reconstruction at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic, Dr. Bastian focused on helping patients who had pain and injury to the upper extremity (arm). There, he performed complex revision surgeries and reconstructed injured areas of the shoulder and elbow. Dr. Bastian completed his orthopaedic residency with 5 years of experience at a busy (Level 1) New York City trauma center (Rutgers – New Jersey Medical School) where he learned how to treat patients with all variety of orthopaedic injuries and conditions.

Dr. Bastian is serious about his education, a committed volunteer and a music and sports enthusiast. Raised in San Francisco, Dr. Bastian attended University of California, Los Angeles for college and later completed his medical school training at Chicago Medical School. Dr. Bastian has published research articles in the renowned Journal of Bone & Joint Surgery, been recognized for teaching other orthopaedic residents, and presented at national conferences (American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Orthopaedic Society of Sports Medicine, and American Shoulder and Elbow Society). Moreover, Dr. Bastian has done medical outreach in various countries such as China, and most recently helped the people in Nagorno-Karabakh (next to Armenia) with Drs. Stephan and Shahan Yacoubian.

Dr. Bastian is committed to returning his patients to the activities they love free of pain. He emphasizes patient education and conservative non-operative management.
