“After many years of playing musical
instruments and working as a flooring contractor, my right
hand apparently had had enough. When I put my hand to my
ear and moved it, it sounded as if I was walking on gravel.
I went to my internist who gave me a cortisone shot. After
several years of a debilitating arthritic hand, my internist
sent me to Dr. Raven. At first, (Dr. Raven) tried
conservative measures – more cortisone at the precise
location; then I went to a hand therapist who made a splint
to wear in the evenings. Those measures failed to relieve
the pain and usefulness of my right hand. At this point,
Dr. Raven suggested surgery. At first I balked; but then
after a month or so, I acquiesced after realizing that I
needed a change in my hand’s behavior. Therefore, on April
25, 2007, I went in for surgery. Dr. Raven, his staff and
the hospital were great. After four or five months, I had
marked improvement; and after seven months my strength is
returning and pain is nonexistent. Dr. Raven is a dedicated
and very personable surgeon who answered every question I
had. He also made excellent incisions. I am very happy
with the outcome of the surgery.”

results showed a breakdown of the knee cement. His team of
